Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the country in a variety of roles. Cheney is a true gentleman and has earned the respect of both Republicans and Democrats. Cheney stated that his role in the Bush administration is to be an honest but quiet adviser. When he accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination Cheney said that he is looking at serving alongside one who can work to achieve his goals by reaching across the partisan aisle and working with political opponents in good faith and common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30th, 1941) was the son Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been engaged to Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. When Richard Bruce Cheney turned 13 He and his family moved from Lincoln Nebraska to Casper Wyoming in the state where his father worked for his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's local conservation districts.
