She sat calmly outside the Swedish Parliament, made a sign saying "School Strike For Climate" and walked out of her school. This was her way of making politicians aware of the need in order to tackle the effects of global warming. Swedish media captured Thunbergs' strike, and the message spread. Thousands of students around the globe took part in her #FridaysforFuture-inspired strike. They skipped the school day on Friday to protest against the effects of climate change. Climate activists from around the world joined together to organize the very initial Global Strike for Climate. The Global Strike for Climate was an incredible success. Over 1.6 millions people took part from 125 different countries.

Nia Gwendolyn (born Virenia Peeples) is an American performer and actress.
