Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with one baby strapped to my back and the others crawling into the playpen. Ha! We were getting close to finishing, but it was still a long distance to go. It would take time, money as well as my personal favorite to furnish this house. In order to stay within my budget, I started going to estate sales with my three sons to find diamonds in the rough. Our weekly routine consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through estate sales and garage sales buying a mixture of old and new pieces while I spent weekends painting and sanding the driveway. My love for furniture repair began when I saw a style like this. I continued to work on furniture, even after having furnished our house. I had a space at the local market and also sold items there. Then, I ran out of lots of pieces to keep in the space available. I hosted open houses at my residence where 1 thousand people would visit during a weekend. visitors could buy anything from the first level. Growing Days was founded in my home. Not only was my business expanding, but so was our sweet family as well. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wanted to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days just seemed to fit. My beautiful Nora came into the world in 2013 and was our 4th child. My business was booming but I wanted a rest. I decided to stop doing work on my furniture for a while and be at home with the children. That was precisely the thing I needed. But after a couple of months without a phone, it began to ring. The people who called me were needing help with decorating their homes and interior renovations. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my property during open houses for furniture! I began to take on customers one by one going at my own pace but it wasn't too time before I was running multiple accounts and was running an entire home improvement business. If you had told me that my company would become the basis for a DIY Network show, I would probably have laughed. In fact, I do laugh when I think about it.
